Ghoul Poon is the Audio/Visual brainchild of Shane Sanchez, formed in 2007.
What began as a small off-shoot EP-album toy-instrument based project turned into a massive psychedelic noise explosion, seemingly with out warning.
Heavy on live collaboration, a wide array of artists has been involved in the project since its inception including, but not limited to Chris Brown, Jeff "Krash" Kharma, Asa Morris, Beth Barret, Kevin Kelly Kenkel and the occasional homeless, wandering freak. In the studio however, the project is almost solely secluded to Shane's imagination.
Styles venture through a vast canyon of genres, sub-genres & invented genres including psychedelic death dance, synth-punk, blast-beat noise, slam-poetry over primitive beats sometimes harkening back to childhood or even ancient times, and sound collages meshed together with the most simple equipment available at the time.
In 2008, Ghoul Poon released the well received Halloween compilation titled "Do The Fright Thing". The disc exclusively featured musicians from the Capitol Region of New York including Scientific Maps, Beware! The Other Head of Science, and Matthew Loiacono
